This image is from work I did in class, one of them is a pattern generated by covering paper with different textures and rubbing coloured pencils on it, I added some of my own favourite patterns on it to form a collage.
I have used coloured pencils to form patterns by rubbing them on the paper when doing my homework, and I have also experimented with different brush materials such as acrylic markers, ballpoint pens, etc., and none of them worked as well as the coloured pencils. So I brought my homework of rubbing coloured pencils together to class to make a pattern.
This approach didn't lead to any new ideas or progress in my project but I think it's a very interesting way of making patterns that I hope to apply into the project afterwards.
Tutorial
Because of Edgard Degas’ work, I drew some drafts of ballerinas dancing. And because I love the Disney princesses, I chose Cinderella among them, because in Cinderella’s story there is the golden tree that can help her to get her wish, and I used the tree as a background and a medium for the parallel world.
In this draft the main characters are Cinderella and me, so that the vertically symmetrical graphics can be shown to be different worlds and different two characters. Cinderella is the clothes she wore during the time she was bullied: an apron and old clothes. And my clothes are the modern kind of school uniforms, which correspond to the aprons are skirts. The colour schemes are all very similar so there's no cut-off and the picture is more unified.
